Online retailer reviews

Post by firehawk12 » Sat Feb 19, 2011 7:33 am

Hi, I'm considering ordering a mask online since it's cheaper and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a reliable retailer that ships to Canada?
At the moment I'm looking at Cpap.com and Directhomemedical.com, but if there are any opinions/suggests, that would be very helpful.

Thanks!

cpap.com certainly ships to Canada. I just placed an order the other day and it is on the way.

For masks and lightweight things they charge $17 USD by weight to ship to Canada. If am getting small items I try to stalk up on filters and other small parts to make it worth the $17. You can always use filters and mask parts. Shipping a machine will cost more.

Direct Home Medical used to ship to Canada but I'm not sure if they still do.

If you are buying from any online retailer or on cpapauction.com, be certain to ask if they ship to Canada via the Postal Service. If they ship by Courier, it is faster but you will pay a Brokerage fee and it could be pricey. I order online a lot but try to make sure I know that they will ship to Canada AND will ship via the Postal Service.

Hawthorne,
Is there still the ResMed issue regarding cpap.com and shipping to Canada?

I ordered a machine from secondwindcpap http://www.secondwindcpap.com/ and had Unbelievable service from them, top notch.

The owner is very knowledgable and very helpful and their prices are VERY good and they ship to Canada.

They also have masks for sale, I can not recommend them highly enough.

cpap.com cannot sell or ship Resmed items to Canada and Resmed items cannot be sold or shipped to Canada on cpapauction.com either. Resmed policy.

Thanks for the replies! The prices are half of what they're asking for up here, so even with shipping it's worth it.

Do cpap.com and secondwindcpap.com ship via USPS?

cpap.com ships via the Postal Service to Canada for sure. I expect secondwindcpap.com does as well. A quick email or phone call will let you know if secondwindcpap.com uses the Postal Service to ship to Canada - or Jayjonbeach can probably tell you. Jayjonbeach?

Yes and you are right to ask as UPS and Fedex will add disgusting fees if used.

Secondwindcpap will ship USPS and give a tracking number, no extra fees.

Anyone else use cpap-supply dot com? I got a CMS50E pulse oximeter from them.
I have used cpap.com for everything else, including a new S9Autoset.
Good luck.

I've had great service from cpap.com on accessories. Everything they sell is new and warranted. I'd go with them.

Not sure I'd trust my health to used equipment, "gently" or not. But that's just me...

I just used CPAP.com to Australia.. $183 for UPS freight.. (ouch!) but even with postage included, it cost a third of the price it would of cost here - so I'm happy.

There are services like shiptogo and hopshopgo.com that allow you to take advantage of free postage to locations within the USA, and then (for a small fee, plus freight charges) have them forward it to yourself in whatever country you live, choosing your own freight company. Wish I knew that on Friday when I ordered!

It's a bit sucky I couldn't buy ResMed gear, but that's not cpap.com's fault.. Anyway, Respironics should be just as good for me.. (I hope)

It was cool that they accepted my Australian prescription.
