Good Informative Sleep Medicine books?

Post by Fitness Seeker » Thu Aug 11, 2011 7:20 pm

I was wondering if some anyone has any recommendations on good, informative sleep medicine books.
I've bought and read recently:

-Deadly Sleep (Mack Jones MD)
-Promise of Sleep (William Dement, Stanford Prof.)
-Sleep Interrupted (Steven Park, MD)

Has anyone read "sleepwatchers" by William Dement? I'm planning to order it. Also wanted to buy a textbook but they are very expensive.

Thanks.

Don't know why anyone would want a book, when anything that's needed can be found on this site by reading. As users what has been learned here is a truer version on our needs that a book written for profit by a writer. Jim

A rather good book that I have read (And have my own copy) is:Sleep Apnea-The Phantom of the Night: Overcome Sleep Apnea Syndrome and Win Your Hidden Struggle to Breathe, Sleep, and Live by T. Scott Johnson, William A. Broughton, Jerry Halberstadt.
Sorry that the title is so long. It is written by a patient with interspersed comments by a doctor.

There's NM's favorite: "How to Tolerate CPAP Therapy for your Sleep Apnea".

Haven't read it myself, but the I think the author was once the lead singer for Midnight Oil.
