Good morning all.
I was going through my results from the weekend and I have a question about the snore index. Below are my results from last night, as you can see my leak rate was higher in the beginning of the night before I switched back to my nasal mask. Is this a high snore index? If so does that mean that my pressure might be set too low? Thanks for your input!

I was prescribed 14cm pressure but a full face mask couldn't deal with the snoring at that pressure. With a nasal mask I am fine. If the graph from the first half of the night was your full face mask, that is probably what is going on.
Is your pressure too low? Probably not for the nasal mask. If you use the other mask though, it's not sufficient to deal w/snoring. However, in your case (like me) your AHI is less than 5, so is this an issue? Probably not, unless you want to eliminate snoring for your own reasons (dry mouth, noise bothering your partner, etc).
I'll let others chime in...
Diagnosed March 2011, using APAP 14 - 16.5 cm, AFlex+ 2
Alt masks Swift FX pillows, Mirage FX nasal mask, Mirage Quattro full face mask

First half of the night we see elevated leaks and elevated snores.
Second half of the night minimal leaks and minimal snores.
I wonder if the machines heard some leaks and thought they were snores???
The PR System One Pro CPAP doesn't score Flow Limitations so that Flow limitation of 0.0 may not necessarily be true.
That said, I don't see anything that I would consider needing an increase in pressure. Real snores are minor flow limitations and might warrant an increase in pressure. If I saw a lot of clusters of obstructive events along with the snores then maybe I might think that the snores were real enough to warrant a slight increase in pressure but I don't see any large clusters with those snores. Can't see the events graph (top graph) from this image but with the low AHI there probably were not any huge clusters if any.
Until I saw increased snores AND no leak to blame them on, I wouldn't be thinking any serious need to increase the pressure. It is possible that the machine heard the leaks and thought they were snores.
If I were to wonder about increasing the pressure it would only be maybe a 0.5 increase and only if I saw clusters of snores with no leaks. I don't worry so much about random snores or even a few random small clusters of snores if AHI is low and everything else seems to be fine..
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

this is part of a PM to me from jedimark
So, there are two data sets containing snore data:
1) the first field in the 0x11 codes events, some kind of sound/vibratory volume, which I display in the graph.
2) and the individual 0x0d snore events, which are the only ones that affect pressure.
The 0x0d events are summarized in the details tab by the snore index in red, which is in events per hour. (like the AHI)
The 0x11 "snore volume" graph calculations, shown in the Min/Max/Avg/90% bit, definitely have room for improvement.
There is as much snore volume data as leak data, it's stored in another field of the same (0x11) event record.
the VSnore is what encore reports - it will show up as red events on the flow graph (if you have any)
the snore graph / max / min etc. is some kind of flow information which is yet to be figured out - it does not correspond to the snore marks encore reports
