Steam Clean CPAP Mask & Hose??

Post by amyjomartin » Thu Dec 08, 2011 3:01 pm

Hi, I am new here. I just received my CPAP machine a week ago. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried cleaning their CPAP parts using a steam bag in the microwave. I have used the Medela ones for baby bottles and breast pump parts and they were fantastic! I was just wondering if they may be safe to use on CPAP masks, hoses, etc. They really save time and sterilize everything very well.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

I think you would end up with really expensive mushy soup. Plastics are either microwave safe or not, and I would not risk my equipment. Vinegar-water and occasionally Peroxide-water washes seem to work fine for disinfecting, if that's your concern.
