Getting hot wearing mask

I turned the temp on my machine (set by DME) from 80.6 to 77 last night because I was getting too hot as well. I left the humidity at 3.

I am curious to know whether you can turn the temp down quite low (or no heat) and still have humidity? Scientifically stupid here but I don't know if you have to have heat to have humidity?

Heater off with water in the tank = Passover mode, the water will be slightly cooled by evaporation, but will still pick up moisture, and that will make it feel slightly warmer than if no moisture was gained. Jim

Looks like I am more than scientifically stupid because I didn't understand you goofproof. Could you simplify it for a lame brain (very compliant with cpap so that is not my excuse).

Do you get the same amount of 'moisture' with low or no temp? ...what do you mean by "it will feel slightly warmer"?

the warmer the water the more moisture it can hold before rainout happens. Low moisture or dry air blowing on the skin cools the skin by picking up moisture from it. Moist air feels warmer partly because it can't pick up moisture from your skin as well, therefore less cooling effect. Jim
