Anyone use REMzzz mask liners?

Post by VikingGnome » Thu Mar 22, 2012 7:14 pm

According to their website, Medicare (and insurance I assume) now pays for mask liners. A 30-day supply costs $25. That's almost a dollar a day. But if Medicare pays 80% of that my co-pay would be just $6.00 I'm going to ask my DME if they can get REMzzz liners for me. Will I need an prescription for that?

I LOVE the climate control and heated humidifier with my S9. But my face sweats under the nose mask. I was thinking the liners would help with that and also help with mask leaks.

I tried them, they suck in my opinion, I bought a pad-a-cheek liner and it is very comfortable and stays in place - very well thought out design and a very nice lady who makes/sells them, even returned my call on a Sunday

+1 on Padacheek! I tried another liner called Quietus Liners but the Padacheek ones are much better. Padacheeks are made of a durable microfiber material and cost about $16 for a single liner if I remember correctly. That single liner will last for months though as they can be washed and re-used. I've been using the same one on my Quattro FX for about 3 months and it's still working like new.

Hi

I've used both the Remzzz's and the Padacheek liner, and I prefer the Padacheek as well.

I can say though, that my insurance does cover the 80% and I'm paying around 5$ I believe for 1 box. I do use them for 2 or more days. I have to remember to look downward while taking the mask off to keep the liner in place. If the liner falls off, it seems to curl up, and never fit right again. I also keep a few in a ziploc bag in my travel kit so if I happen to stay overnight unexpectedly, I'll have something to use with the mask.

I have used Remzzz, Quietus Liners and Pad a Cheek and prefer to use the Remzzz because each morning I just rinse it out and hang it over the tap and it is dry by night - one will last for a long time. I don't need to loop it over anything - it just sits there and is a barrier between my face and the mask. I do use other PadaCheek products for another mask and find they are great products.

You can make your own remzzzzz by just using one as a pattern and using an old , well washed, cotton t-shirt or cotton undies. They last longer than the remzzz and can be washed more often. I now use padacheeks liners....the best... and they last longer than a few months...I've got one on my quattro that is over a year old and still going, the ones I have for my hybrid are at least six months old ..and still going.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

I check the Pad-a-cheek website. they only have liners for FFM and pillows. None for nasal masks. I thought the REMzzz where disposable so you I wouldn't have another thing to wash every day. I want a clean liner every night. I sweat a lot under my nasal mask and my nose runs like a faucet the first 10 minutes on CPAP. I don't think a cloth liner is going work for me.

You might want to try contacting the owner Karen on the Padacheek website or she may see this thread as she's on here from time to time. She's very helpful and she may be able to do a custom design that will work for your mask.

Just call or email Karen. I asked her if she made the pad a cheek liners for the PR comfortgel blue nasal masks since they didn't have them on the site. She emailed me back promptly and said she did make them and just put a comment on the order page. Mine should arrive on Monday.

I too have made liners out of t-shirts and like them better than the bought products because they are a bit thicker. I don't feel bad throwing them out each day when I can make about 100 for about 5 bucks. I made a paper template that I draw on to about 5 layers of fabric and cut away. Takes maybe 15 minutes to mae enough for 3 months.

VikingGnome, I have a ResMed Vista nasal mask. I got some samples of the RemZzzzs and liked them, but they were expensive. So, what I did was get a Padacheek full face mask liner, traced the RemZzzzs outline on it, and cut it out. The Padacheek was $16, but it lasts for months!

Hi, VikingGnome.

My name is Becky. I work for the company that makes RemZzzs CPAP Mask Liners. RemZzzs CPAP mask liners were awarded the Medicare billing codes A7031/A7032 on 7/8/10, and have been successfully billed by thousands of customers since. We have recently, however, received communications from Medicare contractors indicating a reconsideration of our Medicare billing codes to “A9270”, a non-covered item.

We are frankly quite puzzled as to the nature of this decision. We are submitting reconsideration paperwork to the Medicare contractors detailing our overwhelming success over the past four years helping PAP users continue therapy, and we will keep everyone updated as we learn more.

I would love to send you (or anyone else) a complimentary sample of RemZzzs. If you would like one, you can PM me.

REMzzz's are probably a wonderful product... but the bottom line for me is cost..

6 months ago, I paid $36 for 2 pad-a-cheek liners and they are still in use today with no sign of needing replacement.

Remzz's are not re-usable & not covered by insurance. The last time I checked, a 30 day supply of remzz's for my FFM is $29.95.

if I used remzzz's over the past 6 months, I would have spent $180.

it's a no-brainer for me...
