Best mask for active, claustrophobic sleeper

Post by Cpap80470 » Tue May 15, 2012 7:36 pm

Hello, desperate to find new mask. I am trying to be good and use my machine and have been using the "old" Comfortlite and that is working but like I said it is old and can't get parts (hose that attaches to hear gear) for it any more. I have tried the Comfortlite 2 it doesn't work for me it is to top heavy. I have to squeeze the straps VERY tight to keep on my head. I have tried to change out the hose from the Comfortlite 2 and put on the Comfortlite but that doesn't work. Can't do nasal pillow masks they make feel like I am suffocating, seems nasal cushions work for me. I am driving myself crazy and need to get a good choice because insurance coves mask once every six months, any suggestions? HELP

Hi - do you have any financial or insurance problems, but if not, have you Googled your (old) mask for parts? Or tried to find any on e-Bay or Craig's list? There may well be people here who can help (most of us have a lot of masks stashed someplace that we're not using (sorry though, I don't have those), and you can get new hoses cheap (e.g. $10. from many suppliers and DME's... they tend to be pretty standard and interchangeable).

No there isn't financial problems just have several masks that I have tried and been stuck with for six months and not to mentioned have pay the copay for something that doesn't work for me, ugh!! Thanks again!

dont forget to watch the various cities near you on craigs list and type in "cpap mask". Lots of people try a system out and want to switch out and sell.

You can find something there that might work. Im of the belief you cant go wrong with the right size full faced mask even if your prescribed for nasal.

I really like the Mirage Activa mask. They work great for some who rolls over a lot and sleeps on thier side. The Activa LT is the latest model.
