Picked up a small package of baby wipes today. Package said "Unscented and Alcohol Free" all over it. Brought it home, lifted the flap and read the ingredients, in small print, to find, among other things, "Benzyl alcohol."
Will benzyl alcohol damage my nasal pillows? I'll only use them a couple of times this week because I am traveling and will have to pack up early and not check in to hotel until late. No time for regular cleaning and air drying like usual.

Re: Baby wipes - truth in labeling
tigrpal,
I know that more than a few of the members here use some form of baby wipes for their daily cleaning as it saves time from the more through daily washing and drying ritual, and still freshens the mask for re-use. I have tried baby wipes before in a pinch while traveling, but I have had great success the rest of the time using the CPAP Mask Wipes from our hosts. They are more expensive than most baby wipes, but they are 100% cotton wipes, with the cleaning formula made from natural plant based ingredients. I have done well using these to keep my mask parts (even the silicone ones) looking and feeling like new for months at a time (I unfortunately only get to replace my Nasal mask parts every 6 months on my insurance). Give these some thought (or even the regular baby wipes) to give yourself a break on the hand washing and drying, and reserve that for your more through weekly or bi-weekly cleanings (or whatever your schedule is for that).

Re: Baby wipes - truth in labeling
I was washing my Swift FX pillows every morning,
as per DME instructions, and they were useless after a month--if that.
On vacation, I used unscented baby wipes, resulting in much longer pillow life.
Now, I do the full cleaning only after a week or so of use.

These are the ones I use too for daily cleaning. I cut them in half, sometimes thirds, when I pull one out partially and the box lasts a long time.2 B Sleeping Soundly wrote:tigrpal,
