Sinus Irrigation with Grossan Tip

Post by texmels » Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:27 pm

Has anyone tried this Grossan Tip for Sinus irrigation? My brother-in-law's ENT put him onto this about 6 years ago for severe sinus congestion/allergies. He attaches the Grossan tip to his regular waterpik machine rather than buying the whole sytem and religiously irrigates his sinuses 2x/day. My Neil med bottle flushes don't seem to help as much as they used to.He keeps telling me to get one and try it for my clogging sinuses, but I thought that I might see if anyone else has had an experience with the Grossan tip before I order it. I guess I am asking for more than one man's opinion( in this case my brother-in-laws) .

Wow, I really like that and would consider ordering it too. If you do, let us know what you think.

Last month, my brother-in-law and sister came to florida for a vacation. He forgot to pack his Grossan tip/Waterpik and had a horrible time with his sinuses. huge dark and puffy circles under his eyes and headaches within 2 days of not flushing. My sister said that after their 10 days here, it took only two days of irrigating back at home with his set to clear his sinuses again and get them back to his " normal" . I was just wondering if anyone else had tried it, so I could compare their experiences.

I can't imagine my water pik pulsing in my sinuses, but it looks like you could fashion a tip out of something easy enuogh to try it. 20 bucks for the tip seems a little ridiulous to me.

very true, maybe use an unused nasal pillow and rig it up to some kind of tubing...just seeking non medicinal ways to help the sinuses.

Some time ago I believe I saw these for the Waterpik that I have, but I don't see them now. However, depending on your model, check out the Goodman site for the SinuPulse Elite flex sinus irrigator - they say it works for WaterPik models WP60, WP70, WP72, WP90, SR400 and Interplak models WJ7, WJ8, & WJ6. I have the WP100 . I personally would not want to adapt something from 2 different manufacturers. The Grossan system is definitely more expensive than the Waterpik system, so I might get a new Waterpik with the SinuPulse flex sinus irrigator. Two things for one machine to do seems to make more sense!

Years ago, I worked with a young fellow who had sinus surgery, and his ENT gave him an attachment for his WaterPik. I had him purchase one for me ($20). It is different from the Grossan Tip in that it is a short cylinder with a cone attached to one end. With the WaterPik, you can easily control the strength of the pulsing.
