SnoreRx Mouthguard
I wanted to share something that's helped me. I've found a mouth guard that's relatively new to the market called SnoreRx, it's Medicare and FDA approved and have found it works really good. I found through Google there's also a discount coupon on the search engines to save money on it cause it's around $100. My problem was my ResMed cpap broke a few months back, I couldn't afford to fix it and this thing has really saved me. Yeah... It's not a cpap, however I do wake rested, I don't gasp for air waking myself through the night and my wife says I virtually stopped snoring and it's more comfortable then a mask. One other thing it helps with protecting against TMJ and my teeth grinding, both big problems. As for my OSA... I don't have any evidence that's gone cause although all of my symptoms seemed to have disappeared. this thing has been a God send, just wanted to share. Has anyone else tried this out yet?

You say your symptoms seemed to have disapeared....."seemed" is not proof..what are you going to do if your symptoms recur? I think I would be inclined to get tested again with the mouth guard in place. If you can't afford another test there are ways to check.....can you borrow an auto machine from someone and set it a 4 and 4 and then read the results, or perhaps you can get hold of the home test apparatus. I'm sure others will chime in with more suggestions for you.

Yeah, I'm going to see if I can borrow some equipment to test. Being that I needed a quick solution, because without anything that's not an option this is at least allowing me to get sleep. Like I said, I don't have proof my episodes are gone... but how I feel is much better which is of course a very good thing. I realize OSA gone untreated is dangerous so as soon as I can I will get test with the piece in my mouth. My suspicion is my condition is still there, but my OSA episodes have been diminished greatly. There are days I wake up where I'm a tired because I unintentionally took the mouthpiece out while sleeping... I had this happen while wearing the mask for the first couple of months too, so nothing's a 100% solution.

Used machines are sometimes very inexpensive--
Secondwindcpap.com has cleaned, reconditioned units with a warranty.

Oral devices may or may not be doing anything over helping with the bruxism and snoring.
They may be approved by the FDA and Medicare, just not necessarily for apnea.
