Tongue papillae bleeding

Post by starkisma » Tue Feb 19, 2013 10:35 pm

Has anyone experienced tongue bleeding from CPAP? One or two of the papillae (the tiny little pores on the tongue) bleeds from time to time usually during tooth brushing. This started after CPAP use. Thanks.

This doesn't make any sense to me and I don't think has anything to do with CPAP. If I were you, I'd check with my dentist.

Does your mouth get dried out real bad at night? Dryness has been discussed in relation to other oral or dental problems. Just wondering if dryness could leave your tongue susceptible to trouble.

That would alarm me. At least enough to call my doctor.

Is it near the sides or tip of your tonque or in the middle? A lot of new CPAP users tend to rub their tongues on their teeth. You could be slightly injuring your tongue (I have bitten my tongue severely). I doesn't sound very serious to me. You might consider wearing a silicon nightguard for a while to protect your tongue.

Eat something frozen--it feels good on the sore tongue.
Especially if it's got a little booze in it.
