ResMed nasal Ultra Mirage 2

Post by WindFlyer » Wed Apr 26, 2006 2:25 pm

Is this a new nose mask? I think the one I have is the ResMed Ultra Mirage. I'm needing to replace it since it's a couple years old. Has anyone noticed improvement in the UM2 if this one is newer?

Hi, the only difference as I understand it (according to the company) is in the headgear, and the forehead support (which is one piece in the new one), but the mask is essentially the same.

RESMED ULTRA MIRAGE 2

Hello windflyer. By the way, thanks for such an encouraging word. I wrote that I was having a hard time with the beginning phase of using CPAP, and what you said did shed some light on the situation.

As far as the UM2 mask, I was given one as a part of my CPAP gear. The user guide that I have explained that the two mask, MU2 and the MU, are equivalent in performance. The new upgraded mask (UM2) includes an improved forehead support with flexible pads that conform to the shape of your forehead.

I know that it's not much info, but I hope it helps a bit. Good luck in your selection of getting a new mask.

I have an ultra mirage too. I just ordered the ultra mirage II today. I'll let you know if I like it.

One interesting thing was that I ordered the mask on cpap.com and used their sizing tool to get a size. When I entered my measurement, the sizer came back with something to the effect of "this mask is not the best mask for your face measurements, try one of these instead..."

I like the one I have and it works well, so I'm questioning the sizing tool.
