cleaning wipes alternatives

Post by patrick_a » Mon May 06, 2013 11:28 am

I have the Control III solution, which works great, but I have to wait for my mask to dry before using. Is anyone using baby wipes or ? as an alternative to the cpap specific cleaning wipes?

Yup, baby wipes are good, not only cheaper but work just fine, just make sure you don't get the ones with aloe or alcohol in them.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Unscented baby wipes.
The only ones I've found without aloe are Target sensitive baby wipes (aloe may leave a film).

Smaller sizes are available in stores.

This is what I use (Target Brand). They're my favorite and I make a special trip to the City to buy them and buy at least a case at a time.

I use them in conjunction with a mask cleaner (pump spray). My husband says the spray makes his mask leak so for him, I use JUST the baby wipe.

Thanks! Everything I've been finding has "Aloe leaf juice" in it...

You are right... just come back from Walmart and every single one had the Aloe. Came back home and realized I already had some good ones from CVS http://www.cvs.com/shop/product-detail/ ... t_v_tabs=2

And, no I'm not a blonde

I just looked at the ones I get from Target and they DO have aloe in them.

I've never had an issue with it though.

Thanks for checking. I think most any of them will work. I'm only using to wipe the sealing surface of my mask and the silcone frame. Still going to fully immerse in cleaning solution about one a week.

I take the wipes I use on my face and add a goodly splash of Witch Hazel to the package. Seems to clean a little better.

This is what I do...daily wiping and a weekly bath (I use baby shampoo)....

If you are a Costco member or know someone who is, they sell Tencel unscented Baby Wipes that are great! It is a huge box with great price.

I think the "juice" is ok... been using them for years (Pampers Thick Wipes for Sensitive Skin).

My DME RT just recommended I wipe the mask with soap and water on a washcloth - pretty much anything but Dawn. I use Dial antibacterial hand soap on a washcloth, wipe it down with the soapy washcloth, then wipe it with just water and pat it a little with a towel and let it dry. I asked her what the benefits of the wipes are and she could not name one. (And they sell them!)

Blessings,

Kate

Why on earth would they say that about Dawn? I've use it on all kinds of stuff including my hair... and just to mention another use http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =127999735
The benefit of using a waterless cleaning method, the mask is ready for use immediately after; no waiting for it to dry.
