Need to find a mask that won't leak! Currently using a Respironics CPAP machine, average settings 16-18. I have a large nose (that's been broken several times) and wide nostrils. I am a mouth breather so need something to get air in nose and mouth. I have previously used several types of full face masks but they continually leak around the bridge of my nose. Currently using the Resmed Liberty Mirage (full face with nasal pillows) and it works fine for a few hours until the nostrils start leaking. Am using medical tape to hold nostrils in place. Just got new parts, wash my face/nose/equipment thoroughly but nothing seems to be working. Right when I am finally getting good sleep, BAM! the leaking begins!
Any guidance, suggestions, input welcomed!!! Thank you!!

Re: Need Mask for Big Nostrils / Wide Bridge & Nose - HELP!
I used to wear a full face mask, but the only one I could wear was the P-R comfortgel full face,
(superceded by the comfortgel blue) because of my odd little face.
There are loads of full face masks out there, by different manufacturers. Do not rule out the total face mask;
some who've tried it, have fallen in love with it. I went the nasal route, trying numerous chin straps
(Pap Cap was the only one that worked for me), and taping, which I did for a while,
until I realized that my mouth breathing had become minimal enough to ignore.

It would help to know WHICH Respironics machine you are using, because what may be happening if you are on an Auto machine or have a long ramp so that your mask is blowing out when the high pressure is reached. If that's the case, we can tell you how to set the machine at the max pressure to fit the mask. Then return it to it's regular settings, and it should hold when your maximum pressure is attained.

Hi - I suggest you try the Resmed UltraMirage II full face mask (which I wear) because I think I have similar type of features - flatter bridge, etc. and the mask comes in a size called Small Shallow, which isn't more 'shallow', but accommodates my features better than just a 'small' size, because of the design. It also comes in Med. & Lge shallow.
