Instead of a drop of oil in the chamber I noticed that some people put it on tissue paper or a "diffuser" in front off the air intake filter -
My cpap unit has the very strong aroma of DOG and this is after only having the unit for a month and only using distilled water, so i'm not sure that eucalyptus scent can be any worse
I checked pubmed and couldn't find anything on eucalyptus oil and cpap but i did find this article:

Abstract
Eucalyptus oil has been reported effective in reducing pain, swelling, and inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the effects of eucalyptus oil inhalation on pain and inflammatory responses after total knee replacement (TKR) surgery. Participants were randomized 1 : 1 to intervention group (eucalyptus inhalation group) or control group (almond oil inhalation group). Patients inhaled eucalyptus or almond oil for 30 min of continuous passive motion (CPM) on 3 consecutive days. Pain on a visual analog scale (VAS), blood pressure, heart rate, C-reactive protein (CRP) concentration, and white blood cell (WBC) count were measured before and after inhalation. Pain VAS on all three days (P < .001) and systolic (P < .05) and diastolic (P = .03) blood pressure on the second day were significantly lower in the group inhaling eucalyptus than that inhaling almond oil. Heart rate, CRP, and WBC, however, did not differ significantly in the two groups. In conclusion, inhalation of eucalyptus oil was effective in decreasing patient's pain and blood pressure following TKR, suggesting that eucalyptus oil inhalation may be a nursing intervention for the relief of pain after TKR.

This is funny, JTM
I wish you luck in getting rid of the odor. Did you change your filter?

Re: someone posted about Eucalyptus oil in the humidifier
I don't advise putting oil in the water tank itself.
In the past big long huge discussions about the oil droplets hitching a ride on the humidified air (water vapors) and making their way to your lungs....now I don't see how that can really physically happen as I would think that the oil droplets would be too heavy to hitch a ride but..
1....I wouldn't want to risk it
2....and probably the main reason I wouldn't put the oil in the water..makes an awful mess trying to clean out the inside of the plastic tank.
I do use various oils on either a little diffuser or a cotton ball back at the air intake. I just like aromatherapy. What use depends on my mood at the time.
For the dog odor...change filters (the white fine filter) more often and wash the gray foam filter about once a week.
Finally...maybe take the machine outside and let it run a couple of hours in the fresh air if it is too annoying.
Or were you just talking about doggy gas?? ...not much you can do about stinky farts except change the diet.

You could run the machine for a while inside a sealed box with a cotton ball sprayed with Ozium.

Rub the oil in on the outside of the cpap. If done correctly, it will stop cpap machine pain and swelling. . Do not add anything to the water in the hh.
P.S. wash your dog!
