You can (loosely) attach the hose to the headboard, or even a ceiling hook, or you can get a Hose Buddy (Google it) that stands beside your bed like a little IV pole. There are many ways to deal with it.

Sir NoddinOff wrote:Running out of water is not something to be overly concerned about if it only happens a few times... maybe your throat or sinuses will get a little dry. It's happened to me several times. I run pretty high humidifier temps and my ResMed S9 H5i tank is too small, therefore I sometimes run out of humidifier water in the early morning, especially when the weather is cold in California. It's a big drag, but what I do is keep a disposable bottle of distilled water near the machine and top off the tank in the middle of the night during a pee break - mostly if I'm sleeping in or, as I said, if the temps in my room are very cool.
I am wondering, how can I increase the temperature of my humidifier or water tank? I have flue now and a stuff nose. It complicates my breathing at night. A steady flow of hot steam from humidified tank should unblock these for sure. Any help please?

It would help if we knew what equipment you are now using...brand and humidifier setting and if you are using a heated hose or not.
But none of these machines will get the water hot enough to create steam...they just can't heat things up that much but you may be able to add more moisture to maximize what you machine can deliver but it depends on where you are at now...if your settings are already at maximum you can't make it any put more moisture in the air. Heated hoses do allow for greater control in terms of humidity delivery though...meaning there are ways to get more moisture available...depending on which machine you are using.
Respironics machines with a heated hose can deliver 90% humidity to the air...it's not like a steam bath but it's the best the machine can do.

Please, where and how can I update my machine information on this thread? I have tried and retried without success. Please, can someone send or direct me to the link here for to click? I tried to log in using my old username of mcpascaln without success then did sign in with a new username of pxm0675 and again failed to lend me to the update information link . Thank you for the help.

If you can't log in then we can't see any equipment profile when you post. I don't know what to tell you about your issues logging in but you can see that no machine information shows up when you aren't logged in.
In the meantime until you get your log in issues resolved you just need to include your equipment briefly in the body of your post or at the very bottom of the post.

Like "I am using so and so machine and I am wondering how can I increase the temperature of my humidifier or water tank?" and if you don't know about whether you are using a heated hose or not once we know which machine you are using we can point you to some pictures of the hoses to see if you spot yours.

You still aren't logged in because you have to avatar or other information showing under your forum ID name...look at your post and then look at mine....and see what shows under my avatar that is absent from you log in name.

Once you get logged the you can go to user control panel and edit the profile page for equipment...see these insructions
wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile

The S9 VPAP auto is shown in the menu but the link may be broken since is now considered a discontinued machine and if it is broken the machine won't show up so I usually tell people to just manually add it in the comments section...see my comments.

Now for how to increase the humidifier temp...just turn the round knob to change the humidity setting..higher number meas higher humidity delivered so he air temp will also be warmer but the best thing to use to adjust temps is he heated hose because then you can adjust the air temp with certain degrees offered.
Without the heate hose being attache we can't access the actual air temp controls.
ResMed heated hoses are called the ClimateLIne heated hose and they have a very distinct orange/gray plug in to attach to the humidifier power.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... ntrol.html
Non heated hoses just have white/gray couplings on both ends.

They are showing in this post as icons. Most regulars prefer they show as text. You can change this at the very bottom of the Equipment Profile screen.

This puzzles me. The Au Sable River is 900 miles by road from Atlanta, GA.
I didn't post as this person and have no idea how anyone could post as me. By the way, I live on the AuSable - in northern Michigan. Nowhere near Georgia.

Hi "ChicagoGranny",

Thank you for that piece of advice. I have now adjusted that image to show as a text format. Please, I need more help. How do I know the software I am using for my machine? I know for a fact, is using an insertable Smart card to record the sleep data. I like to update my profile with a software type I am my machine is using based on the available range of software options provided within the cpaptalk.com .

You can download Sleepyhead software to read your SD card. This site will help explain how. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead
There is also information there showing how to organize your graphs, take screenshots, and use Imgur to post screenshots if you want to post them. If you have any questions just ask.
