My hose has been waking me up with noises. I know that sounds odd. I air it out every day so the moisture leaves.
Anybody have this problem? I FINALLY got comfortable wearing my mask everynight. What's with tho hose??
Hose from cpap gurgles and makes popping noises
Re: Hose from cpap gurgles and makes popping noises
Your humidity is set too high. I have to keep mine on one or it fills with water in the middle of the night.
Re: Hose from cpap gurgles and makes popping noises
Also try filling the water resevoir only 1/4 full.
Re: Hose from cpap gurgles and makes popping noises
The problem is water in the hose that is blocking the air.. Try moving your CPAP to a position lower than your mattress. Possibly near the floor. That will cause any water build up to run down hill to the humidifier. Also check your humidity setting and lower it. You may need to cover your hose. Condensation forms when the room is cool and the air in the hose is warm. That adds to the moisture problem .If you continue to have problems try the "hose buddy".

Re: Hose from cpap gurgles and makes popping noises
You have the 60 series machine?? Do you by any chance already have the heated hose? If unsure..the heated hose has a black end where it attaches to the humidifier.
Moisture in the hose or mask will make some pretty weird and loud noises. Called rainout or condensation. Very common.
Several options to reduce this annoyance.
Increase the bedroom temperature.
Decrease humidity level chosen if you can do so comfortably. But sometimes lowering the humidity causes issues with sinuses and nasal mucosa.
Use a heated hose.
Put machine quite a bit lower than mattress so that gravity causes the moisture to flow downhill out of the hose.
Hose cozy to help insulate the hose.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: Hose from cpap gurgles and makes popping noises
I suggest using a well insulated hose sleeve. I run my humidifier at a high level and sleep in a cool room (65 degree) and never have "rainout". My hose sleeve came from one of the on-line CPAP suppliers, and is made of nylon shell with some sort of fiberfill insulation like an insulated jacket.
