I just moved into an apartment. For the first time since using CPAP I was sleeping with an open window.
My AHI's went from 0.0-1.5 to 2.5 during that time...so...I slept for a week with the windows closed and every night it had dropped back down to between 0.0-1.3
Last night I opened the window again to see what would happen and this morning woke up to 2.9.
Has anyone else experienced this rise in episodes when sleeping with an open window? Any suggestions as to why it might be going up with an open window?
I was really enjoying having the window open, but not at that cost!
Thanks for any input!

I wouldn't let an AHI increase of 1 stop me from sleeping comfortably with an open window

Are you sleeping in a different position when the window is open?
Do you have an idea what the room temp is?

I sleep with the window open all the time... even in winter. Our temps may be a few points warmer than you but who cares.... its fresh air. Your ahi is still within exceptable range, so why worry.

If you feel refreshed and alert, I wouldn't worry about your AHI increase since you feel more comfortable with the window open.
What I would worry about in sleeping with the window open, particularly if I was in an apartment on a lower floor is someone breaking in. Hopefully, that isn't an issue for you.

Could it be that with the windows open you are hearing outside noises that cause you to have an awakening? Just a thought.

Maybe some disturbances are giving you mini-arrousals... cars, wind rustling the curtains, skunks (wait, that's my house ). Anyway, I agree with most of the others above, that's not a huge price to pay to be comfortable. As 49er said, do you feel any different in the morning

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
