Hi!
I had my first sleep study last night and today had a snarl of hair and paste. My techs, while thoughtful, gentle, people, didn't try to remove the paste from my hair before evicting me to the world at 5:45 am
I have thick, shoulder-blade length hair. I already shed like a Persian and don't need more hair dropping.
I was able to lift one nickel-sized dollop of paste but everything else was pretty well smeared in.
Called my hairdresser, she said try dish soap. Called my mom, she said her techs did it for her.
I keep extra virgin coconut oil in the house and thought I'd try that. I melted it in my hand and worked it into the places where the paste had been and let it sit for a few hours. Lather, rinse, repeat and condition. All done.

Re: Removing Electrode Paste
Sleep center electrode glue is the same as EEG paste.
Here is a link on how to get it out of your hair.

So are you done at the lab or do you have to go back for a second night?catazure wrote:Hi!

Re: Removing Electrode Paste
The techs gave me an easy and goof-proof method (worked for both my studies): Work conditioner through your hair and let sit for a good 10-15 minutes (make sure goofy spots are covered) and then wash with shampoo and water as warm as you can tolerate. Condition again. Done. For the second time, I actually picked up a deep condition pack - killed 2 birds with one stone.
