OT My left leg is huge You saved my life.

Post by Stormynights » Wed Oct 02, 2013 8:05 am

I woke up this morning with my left leg swelled and I can barely walk. Does anyone know what might cause this? It is swollen from my crotch to my toes.

I did make an appointment. This just doesn't make sense. There is nothing new. No meds or anything.

Is there pain or redness involved?

Yes but the pain isn't severe. It is red.

My arm swelled like that and it was a massive DVT. Lower body DVTs are much more dangerous, please go straight to the emergency department.

Yes, go straight to the emergency room. Is a DVT blood clot in the leg and, if you are unlucky enough to go up to the lung. Hurry.

Agree with the above. This is a medical emergency. Pack up your CPAP and take it with you!

My daughter is coming. Thank you for the replies even if you did scare the crap out of me.

Better scared than dead!

If it turns out to be nothing you can laugh at all the nannies here.

I tend to minimize stuff when it happens to me, and sometimes need the sh*t scared out of me to see a doctor. Just returning the favor.

Keep us posted.

I also would rather see you at the ER told "It's nothing" than to hear a doctor say "Had they come earlier ... but there's nothing we can do now"!! Don't think twice about this one.

Should I stay sitting up or lie down till she gets here?
